General Context

The Committee on Collections recommends to the Board that the Museum accept of decline gifts of works of art and recommends approval of all expenditures of the Museum's funds over $50,000 to purchase works of art, as well as purchases by the Foundation for the Arts and The Eugene and Margaret McDermott Art Fund, Inc. The Committee also approves and recommends to the Board any works of art to be deaccessioned. The Committee considers and recommends to the Board matters of policy relating to the management of the permanent collection, loans, and other collections in care of the Museum.
