This collection contains exhibition records transferred to archives from an exhibitions file room. The exhibitions department is the primary creator of the records in this collection, though they may also contain records created by the curator in charge of the exhibition. Records may include but are not limited to: attendance, checklists, contracts, planning, budget, funding and sponsorship, correspondence and memoranda, loans, insurance, shipping, tour venues, catalogue, programming, audio tours, events, publicity, and final reports.

The collection also contains files for exhibitions that were not held at the DMA, and some non-exhibition materials.
