Scope and Contents
The Artifact Collection is an artificial collection created to describe various artifacts not part of another collection. The collection has been arranged into six series: Awards, Building Items, Buttons, Commemorative Plates, Logo Products and Merchandise, and Miscellaneous.
The Awards series contains the statues, plaques and certificates representing awards and commendations received by the museum, directors and architectural projects. The Building Items series contains models, items used during groundbreakings and other commemorative items related to buildings and renovations including the New Museum, Hamon Expansion, Horchow Auditorium & C3, gallery reorganization, and Eagle Family Plaza. The Buttons series contains various buttons and tags produced for exhibitions, programs and other activities. The Commemorative Plates are small decorative plates produced in conjunction with exhbitions as thank you gifts for docents. The Logo Products series contains prototype and final Arturo stuffed toys, products with the DMA logo, and products depicting DMA objects. The Miscellaneous series contains plaques from the Fair Park building, official gifts, and other miscellaneous items.
