Scope and Contents
This collection contains the extant records documenting the exhibition held at the DMFA during the Texas Centennial Exposition in 1936. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondnece and Centennial promotional materials. of The majority of the correspondence is between new DMFA Director Richard Foster Howard and the two curators from the Art Institute of Chicago, Robert Harshe and Daniel Catton Rich, who curatated the exhibition. There is also correspondence about the Texas Section and shipping.
The Centennial promotional material includes postcards; commenorative photographs and photograph sets; various souvenier programs, guides, brochures and newspaper advertisement produced for and in conjunction with the Centennial Exposition; ticket; and souvenier coin.
Also part of the collection is the exhibition catalogue and drafts, press releases, text of a talk Howard gave, and copies of the exhibition installation from the Art Institute of Chicago's digital collections.
