Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the records of Ramona Austin, Associate Curator of African Art (1994-1999) and Margaret McDermott Associate Curator of African Art (1999-2001). The bulk of the records relate to Austin's work on a catalogue for the museum's collection of African Art; this catalogue was not published or completed. Records for the catalogue were also created by Josephine Ryan, assistant to Austin. Catalogue records include correspondence with publisher, editor and authors of essays and entries; essay and catalogue drafts and edits; and meeting notes.
The collection also contains general correspondence, dealer correspondence with Joel Cooner Gallery, 1996 permanent collection installation, and the exhibition Animals in African Art.
