Biographical / Historical
John Blythe Halton ("Jack") Henderson (1905-1955) was a career engineer and a great hobbyist throughout his life. He was a talented photographer and became interested in making jewelry, and cutting and polishing stones in the early 1950s. His work was selected for juried crafts exhibitions including the annual Texas Crafts exhibitions held by the DMFA.
Natalie Lee is Jack's daughter.
Shirley Lege Carpenter was an accomplished metalsmith who specialized in silver holloware and elegant gold jewelry. She had a nearly 40 year association with the Craft Guild of Dallas as a student, teacher and board member. Carpenter's work was exhibited around the country, including the annual Texas Crafts exhibitions held by the DMFA.
Shirley was Jack Henderson's sister-in-law (Jack was married to Shirley's sister Marion) and inherited Jack's jewelry... tools.
Natalie Lee is Shirley's neice.
