Scope and Contents
Contains an Alice Street Art Carnival list of organizers and their assigned roles. The carnival was Mexican-themed and occurred June 22-23, 1932. It was "the first attempt by the large group of artists and art students in the Dls. Colony to sponsor an art fiesta and open air-market." Also contains a letter from Alexander Hogue to Mr. S.S. Blain, Jr. dated March 28, 1975. The letter discusses an exhibition by Olin Travis and the activities of the group known as the "Dallas 9." He makes mention of Jerry Bywaters, Ted Dealey of the Dallas Morning News, John Rosenfield, the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, the Texas Centennial Exhbition, George Biddle, American Scene Painters and the Southwest Review.
