Dallas Museum of Fine Arts Photograph Scrapbooks

The collection consists of unbound pages from two scrapbooks: one of the museum building and activities and one of the collection. Scrapbook contents are black and white photos, predominantly 4x5 inches in size, with some 8x10 and smaller sizes.

Photographs in the scrapbooks document the museum building and activities; and collection objects arranged by collection or artist. Photographs are identified with a number, but there is no index to those numbers, resulting and mostly unidentifed photos, though some have handwritten identification notes which may or may not be contemporaneous to the creation of the scrapbook. Photos seem to date to the 1940s and 1950s, or the tenure of Director Jerry Bywaters.
