Custodial History
Material had been on loan to the DMA, by Julie Cochran, since the James Brooks exhibition in 2006. In 2016 the Brooks Foundation was shutting down and dispersing the collection. Some material from the loan was transferred to the Archives of American Art and the Parrish Art Museum. The remainder of the collection was reviewed by Mark Leonard, Chief Conservator and Interim Director of Curatoral Affairs where some material was transferred to the art collection. This is the remaining material of the loan.
