Abstract

The Education & Programming Photography collection contains photographic documentation of programs for children and adults organized, or likely organized, by the museum's education department staff.

Arrangement

The collection is arranged into 24 series representing a program type; the types are based on recurring named programs or created by the archivist to cluster similar programs together for arrangement purposes. Program types are arranged alphabetically, and folders are primarily arranged chronologically within each program type. If there is more than one photographic media for a program, all photographic media are foldered together for ease of user access; media formats are noted for each program in the description.

Processing Information

The Education & Programming collection is a combination of photographic documention that was already in the archives, slides transferred from the slide library, and digital photography on disk transferred from the Imaging department. Slides and prints were heavily weeded within individual programs, though few programs were weeded in processing.

Additional description/notes were added for DACS compliance and ArchivesSpace local usage guidelines in 2021.
