Custodial History
One 4 x 8 foot foam core panel was removed from David McManaway's studio by Robin Ragin, David's studio assistant, to preserve the aesthic of the space. Ragin maintained the panel and it was used in an exhibition about David McManaway and friends/circle at the Grace Museum in Abiline in 2020. The Archives was unable to accept the whole panel for the McManaway Papers due to size, condition, and inability to store something of this large size. The Archivist suggested photographing the panel and selecting items that held special meaning to David or were uniquely representative of the types of found objects he collected, stored on panels in his studio and would incorporate in his art pieces. Bober and Ragin photographed the panel and selected items for the archives. Bober recorded Ragin explaining the meanings and explainations of the selected items.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Collection received from Robin Ragin 19 March 2021.
