Scope and Contents

This collection contains records for exhibitions not held. Retained files are for exhibitions that were proposed and/or organized by the DMA with significant work done prior to cancellation. A few exhibitions with less significant work done were retained due to a relationship with other archives collections or relevance to the museum's collection.

Files include plannning, budgets, grants and grant reporting, checklists, loan requests, and general correspondence. Exhibitions are from 1978-1994.

Arrangement

This collection is arranged by exhibition; there is no particular arrangement of files within each exhibitionl.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

This collection is the remains of a heavily weeded collection of dead, declined or otherwise not held exhibitions primarily from the late 1970s to mid-1990s. The collection was weeded per the terms in the records retention and destruction schedule for the exhibitions department. The collection was reaccessioned in its new form.
