Biographical / Historical
Jerry Bywaters was a well known Dallas-based painter, considered to be one of the Dallas Nine. He served as Director of the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts from 1943 to 1964. Bywaters was also an art professor and Southern Methodist University and an art critic for the Dallas Morning News.
