New Museum Records
Scope and Contents
This collection contains records relating to the construction of the New Museum downtown. It is probable that the bulk of the records in the collection are from the Director of Operations, Larry Francell, who was hired in 1980 to oversee the daily aspects of construction. It is also probable that over time new museum-related records from other departments, primarily Director's Office: Harry S. Parker III, were mixed in with Francell's records. The bulk of the records relate directly to construction of the building and exterior spaces (Education Courtyard, Sculpture Garden, general landscaping), and various subcontracted work. The records are arranged alphabetically by topic.
