Abstract
This collection consists of the permenent digital files from the Employee Archives accounts of DMA graphic designers Brittay Lowe, Edna Monterrosa, and Kenna Montgomery. Design projects from 2019-2023 for external facing collateral and communication design functions are represented.
Arrangement
The collection is arranged in 13 series; series were determined based on designers' original order and discoverability needs. Within each series are files based on subject or time period which contains all related digital records. The most logical display order is alphabetically or chronologically by folder and file title.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Archives was given access to Employee Archives accounts in January 2024. The combined and weeded collection of the three graphic designers was moved to the Archives Department SharePoint site, Digital Archives Library, MA-Museum Archives collections on 30-31 January 2024. Further arrangement and weeding of the collection was accomplished within the Digital Archives on 1-2 February 2024.
Processing Information
For design materials, only the final versions were retained. The only file formats retained are PDF, gif and png were kept; some jpg were retained if it was the only available format. AI, EPS, PSD, INDD proprietary file formats were not retained. Assets generally had both open and proprietary formats, so the open format version was selected. Original image files for assets used in a designed piece were also not retained. Some images in the account but seemingly not used in a designed piece were retained as other digital assets.
Collection processed by Hillary Bober; processing was completed 2 February 2024.
