Abstract

The collection contains scrapbooks of news clippings created by the museum's publicity staff to document the DMFA and DMA presence in Dallas newspapers. The scrapbooks cover January 1933-January 1985; the bulk of the scrapbooks are chronlogically based with a few created for a specific topic.

Arrangement

The scrapbooks have been arranged into two series. Series 1 are date-based and arranged chronologically; they cover the period January 1933-January 1985. There is fairly complete coverage for this date range, though there are a few minor gaps; it is unknown if these gaps are due to missing scrapbooks or that they weren't created. Series 2 is considerably smaller and contains scrapbooks that are gathered around a specific topic.

Accruals

The 1933-1936 scrapbook and a small photograph album with news clippings for 1938 were transferred to this collection from the Dallas Art Association Records. These are from the same series and it is more logical to put them together.
